FEBRUARY Vacation Week - Art Explorers
Dates: February 21 – 24, 2017
Theme: Art Explorers - Artful Engineering and Design
Based on planning for the new building and the ongoing renovation of The Umbrella, our February Vacation week, Art Explorers, will take its inspiration from the creative sides of engineering and design! Art Explorers – Artful Engineering and Design will get the creative sparks going with hands-on projects on design thinking, building and sculptural constructions, environmental design and the natural world, machines and technology! The integration of the arts into science, math, and engineering is an important part of The Umbrella’s education mission to promote 21st century skills. Your young artists will think critically and work collaboratively as we explore the many ways that art influences engineering and design. Join us, and let the adventures begin!
*All registrations and program forms are due on this date.
**Late registrations may be accepted after the registration deadline on a space availbale basis if the schedules have not been completed and the staff ratios allow for additions to a specific age group.
Age Range: 4 - 14
Groupings: Morning and Afternoon sections:
- RED GROUP: Pre-K (Ages, 4-5) – limit 10 participants
- GREEN GROUP: K (Ages, 5-6) – limit 12 participants
- BLUE GROUP: 1st Grade (Ages, 6-7) – limit 12 participants
- PURPLE GROUP: 2nd Grade (Ages, 7-8) – limit 12 participants
- ORANGE GROUP: 3rd- 4th Grade (Ages, 8-10) – limit 12 participants
- YELLOW GROUP: 5th- 8th Grade (Ages, 10-14) – limit 12 participants
Morning Extended Day 7:30-9:00am
This option is for early risers who need extra time during the commute to work. Under the guidance of our morning extended day teacher, your child will get the chance to jump start their day with art.
Tuition: $60 for 4 days
Half-Day - MORNING
Morning ONLY – 9:00am – 12:30pm. Includes three different art classes* and a break for a mid-morning
snack.
Early registration tuition: $180 for 4 days
Regular tuition: $200 for 4 days
Half-Day - AFTERNOON
Afternoon ONLY – 1:00 – 4:00pm. Includes three different 50-minute art classes*
Early registration tuition: $160 for 4 days
Regular tuition: $180 for 4 days
Afternoon Extended Day 4:00-5:30pm
Continue your projects or start something new under the guidance of our extended day teacher. This
option is to accommodate families who need the extra time to pick up after work.
Tuition: $60 for 4 days
Full-Day
Want your child to experience art ALL day? No problem! Just sign up for both the morning and afternoon sessions in your child’s age group. Full day students must be provided with a NUT-FREE lunch from home for the mid-day break 12:30-1pm.
Early registration tuition: $340 for 4 days
Regular tuition: $380 for 4 days
SPECIAL NOTES:
Students staying for both the AM and PM rotations need to bring a NUT FREE lunch from home.
Please be aware that the total number of classes and rotations in the various program areas (drawing, painting, ceramics, workshop...etc.) will depend on the total number of students enrolled and how they divide into similar age groups (i.e. 4-5yrs, 5-6yrs, 6-7yrs, 7-8yrs, 8-10yrs, and 10-14yrs).
Parents should also note that if your child’s age group is under enrolled (fewer than 5), the group will be cancelled and students placed in either a younger or older age group depending on availability, and at the discretion of the Director.
