Studio Arts: About
About
The Umbrella Community Art Center is provides studios for fifty-eight resident artists, some of whom have made this building their home-away-from-home since it opened in 1983. Our resident artists practice a diverse selection of art forms including but not limited to painting, ceramics, weaving, illustrating, wood-working, printmaking, metal-smithing, photography, and drawing. Collectively, these artists represent over 2,000 years of creative experience.
Once a month, several artists open their doors to visitors during First Thursdays. They invite people to see their process and their works-in-progress, providing an invaluable window into the daily life of an artist.
Twice a year, during our annual Winter Market in December and Open Studios in April, all of our resident artists pull out all stops to show what they've created. These weekend long events are a perfect opportunity to bring visiting friends and family to The Umbrella to show them the incredible art that is made right here in Concord.
