Solstice Celebrations
Celebrate the Earth’s natural rhythms with an outdoor community gathering with music, ceremony, drumming, singing – or whatever local talents you want to recognize. Partner with local artists/performers and land conservation groups to co-host with you.
In Concord we recognize the longest day of the year, June 21, with an evening picnic and music, singing on the Old North Bridge above lanterned canoe and kayak paddlers in the Concord River, and S’mores and more singing on the back lawn of the Old Manse, a Trustees of Reservations property.
We celebrate the shortest day of the year, December 21, also on Old Manse back lawn, with candles, torch-lit pathways, singing, ceremony, hot apple cider and s’mores. This community gathering generates warmth and spirit.
