Presently, and for more than a decade, I have painted with oils. My previous experience with watercolor helped me learn the vast language of color mixing and brush stroke effects. This knowledge is interpreted in every one of my oil paintings.

In choosing a subject, I look for a special quality with the light and its reflections. It is important that my paintings elicit an emotion from the viewer. Generally, I prefer a restful and serene subject. Most often I gravitate to land and waterscapes. I never cease to be humbled and awed by the beauty and power that gently rests around the horizon line.

I have exhibited my paintings locally at Concord Art Association, The Umbrella, Emerson Hospital, Harvey Wheeler Center, Annisquam Art Gallery, and at Harvard Neighbors, Harvard University. I have had a solo show in Aug/Sept 2010 at the Annisquam Art Gallery.

I have donated numerous paintings for live auction such as:  “Paint The Town” sponsored by The Concord Art Association, Fundraisers at: The Umbrella, The Concord Museum, and The Old North Bridge Hounds.

With a teaching background and a Masters in Education, I have enjoyed teaching watercolors and oil painting at Concord Art Association, Harvard Neighbors, and at Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts, where I also have an artist studio (Studio#307). I have a roster of private clients who prefer small group or solo art lessons.

In closing I wish to convey my gratitude and love to my family and friends for always being supportive, encouraging, and “complimentary”.
