Marika McCoola

Marika McCoola is an author, illustrator, and educator. She holds a BFA in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA in Writing for Children from Simmons College. Her debut graphic novel, Baba Yaga’s Assistant, is published by Candlewick Press.

Marika teaches Studio Art, Illustration, and Children's Literature online for the State University of New York, Empire State College and has also taught Children's Literature for Skidmore College. Whether working in the visual arts or writing, Marika's work develops characters and stories- often with a bit of humor.
