Denise Mickilowski
Denise Mickilowski was born in New York City and started her art career early studying at the High School of Art and Design, graduating in 1977. In 1981 received a BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, PA. In her junior year she attended the Temple abroad in Rome program to study in Italy for a year. Between undergraduate and graduate schools, Denise worked as an oil painting restorer at Julius Lowy frame and restoring company in NYC, for 12 years. There she worked on many famous paintings, by John Singer Sargent, Albert Bierstadt, Henri Magritte, Norman Rockwell amongst many others. In 1995 she received her MFA at Boston University in painting. She has been exhibiting her work for the past 20 years at Fischbach Gallery in NYC, Arden Gallery in Boston, Southport Galleries, Southport CT and M.A Doran Gallery in Tulsa OK. Her work in in numerous corporate and private collections and can be seen in “100 Boston Painters”, book by Chawky Frenn. Denise has been teaching for the past 20 years in both the college level and adult education programs.
