Description: The Umbrella Community Arts Center is always looking for new course proposals and talented teachers for our seasonal course catalogs. We offer courses, workshops, and special events for the adult, teen, youth and family audiences. Applicants and associated course proposals will be evaluated in comparison to current faculty and course offerings and by potential interest to the constituencies of The Umbrella.

The has a variety of programs offered in 5 active classrooms: a ceramics studio, two mixed use classrooms for the visual and sculptural arts one with a printing press, a digital media lab, a workshop and maker’s space.

Special interest adult classes at the beginner and intermediate levels are sought after.  Traditional art mediums as well as folk and craft arts will be considered.  Another area of interest is in the creative arts and wellness, arts and expressive therapies.

Special interest youth classes are offered afterschool and on weekends.  Areas of interest include digital media and animation/Claymation, drawing, illustration, cartooning, and painting.  The Umbrella also seeks arts integrated STEM programming (science, technology, engineering, and math) for its workshop and maker’s space.

Opportunities exist for family programming as well.
