Congratulations Caitlyn!

It brings us a sigh of sadness to announce that Caitlyn Marsh will be leaving her employment at The Umbrella for another professional opportunity. Her new venture will also regrettably prevent her from continuing as a valued member of our ceramics teaching faculty. While this is a double loss for the Education Department, as with all things that change and evolve it is not without some equal measure of good news too. This is of course a great opportunity for Caitlyn and we hope a huge next step in her career.
In her 12 years (!) working for The Umbrella, Caitlyn has steadily built forward progress in the clay program and has been a force and voice for steady common sense solutions. Over the years she has achieved increasing levels of responsibility in her position and demonstrated new levels of accomplishment both of which are born out in the growth and elevated status of the ceramics program.
Those that know Caitlyn, know how tirelessly she works every day to support the artists, students, and the administration. Quite literally our clay program is what it is today due to her hard work, attention to detail, and limitless energy and knowledge. She was a great resource, a pillar of support, and an engine that kept it all going! For the Education Department and especially for those in ceramics, Caitlyn’s influence will be dearly missed.
On another note of good news, Caitlyn will still be seen around The Umbrella, working away as an artist in her studio continuing to produce her fantastic pottery. So while the Education department won’t benefit from her talents any more, The Umbrella’s artist community still will!
Caitlyn’s last day as the Ceramics Program Manager will be September 1, 2017. From everyone in the Education Department and on The Umbrella staff, we enthusiastically wish her well in this new endeavor.
Congratulations Caitlyn!
